Producers in northern Australia have a new point of contact for biosecurity advice following the recruitment of Jess Rummery to Livestock Biosecurity Network (LBN).
She will take on the role of Manager – Biosecurity and Extension for Northern Australia.
Jess joins LBN fresh from a role within the Australian Government’s Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, predominantly focused on live exports.
Jessica brings a great deal of experience to LBN, adding her professional experience to her qualifications in animal science, public administration and national security policy.
“I’ve always been passionate about agriculture and I can’t wait to get on the ground in northern Australia and start working with producers,” Jessica explained.
Jess will be based in Darwin but, her role involves supporting producers across the territory and the rest of northern Australia.
LBN’s Executive Manager, Duncan Rowland, believes Jess will be a huge asset to the team.
“Jess is uniquely suited to this role and I am confident she will deliver value to the livestock industry in the country’s north,” he said.
“I look forward to working with her to that end.”
